Bongekile Mildred Simelane, better known as Babes Wodumo a South African Gqom artist, has seemingly hit back at claims she is fighting for her life.

BABES WODUMO IS BACK ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Taking to her Instagram on Thursday, 13 July, the reality TV star posted a video of her seated in a car as she sang along to the beat she was playing.
In the clip, Babes Wodumo bursts into song, seemingly taking jabs at all the unwanted publicity she gets.
In the song, she sings about how she would have said no to fame had she been warned of its cons.

CLAIMS BABES IS CRITICALLY ILL

Last week, the Wololo hitmaker’s fans started sending messages of prayers after it was reported by IsiZulu newspaper Isolezwe that the musician was critically ill.
The publication again reported at the weekend that reported that its sources revealed that Babes is in and out of hospital due to an undisclosed. Sources claimed that Babes is severely ill and suffers from shortness of breath.
Another source claimed that her husband Mampitsha’s death had taken its toll on her.
The Big Nuz group member passed away on 24 December after suffering a mini-stroke. The couple has one child together, a 2-year-old baby boy named Hlelolenkosi “Sponge” Maphumulo.

According to a third source, the Shut Up And Groove hitmaker missed several gigs she was booked for including the Durban July and Cotton Fest Durban.

NONDUMISO RUBBISHES ILLNESS CLAIMS

However, Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane says that she is in good health. She said the star missed the Durban events because she had been performing outside of the country.
“We missed the event because of our return flight back home, but we communicated this to the organisers of both events and they understood the situation."
“(Babes Wodumo) is in great health. Maybe her silence on social media is why they are assuming she is not well. She is currently busy with two albums, her own and Mampintshas,” Nondumiso said.
In addition, she said that her sister is also busy heading up Mampintsha’s businesses as well as his alcoholic beverages, Original Shandis Gin and Vodka.
