The first female Secretary to the Government of Ondo State (SSG), Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu, has encouraged the first female President of the National Association of Ondo State Students’ (NAOSS), Comrade Mary Ogunga, to be above board in the discharge of her duties, whilst piloting the affairs of the group with the utmost diligence, transparency, probity and modest the women folk is known for.
9jaView had broken a story of Mary Ogunga, a female law student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko who defeated three other candidates: Olubunmi Ololajulo, Grace Atoyebi and Idowu Ayemojuba with ninety votes to emerge the first female President of the Association in the election held at Adegbemile Cultural centre, Alagbaka Akure, yesterday (Sunday).
Odu in a statement made available to newsmen noted that the emergence of Ogunga as the NAOSS President is an attestation of the fact that there must be a paradigm shift from the superstitious belief that women cannot be at the helm of decision-making.

She stressed that Ondo State is gradually changing the narratives where women and girls are seen as backbenchers and only meant to serve the family.
While congratulating her, the Secretary to the State Government said the President should bear in mind that her election is a call to service and should therefore leave no stone unturned to make a difference.
Princess Odu equally advised Ogunga to be humble, resourceful and innovative in the task ahead, observing that she must treat every member of the association equally without preference.
The SSG who also congratulated members of the NAOSS executive and other contestants implored them to cooperate with the President so that together they can achieve success, noting that the election should be seen as no victor and no vanquished.
