Nigerian Immigration Service launches online portal for passport application.
Nigerian Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has launched the first online portal for passport application in Abuja on 8th Jan, 2024.
This will allow Nigerian citizens and non-citizen to apply and get a Nigerian passport online.
He also said in a statement that the automated application is 99% done.
He had announced that the Federal Government is working on an automated passport application system earlier on December last year.
He also stated that the process can be done through the Nigeria Immigration website here https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/application/
And uploading all the required supporting documents, photos, and informations.
Nigerian applicants who want a five years validity and a 32-page passports will be charged N35,000, while those who want 64-page passports with a 10-year validity will pay N70,000.
While, foreign applicants, who wish to apply for passports with a five-year validity and 32 pages, will be charged $130, while those who prefer passports with a 10-year validity period and 64 pages will be charged $230.
All applications must be submitted through https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/application/
